Blood Cancer Symptoms You Must Know
Do you search on google about random symptoms you come across every time you get sick? Or are you too scared to go to a doctor and know if you have Leukemia? Blood cancer is real and is not to be taken lightly. Many have lost their lives because of it. But going over the internet to find out whether you have the disease or not is absurd. Always go to a doctor if you want to make sure you have or are free from the disease. What happens in Leukemia is that the bone marrow where the red blood cells are formed starts making white blood cells instead of red and unlike other white blood cells this one does not help in fighting any infections. Blood cancer symptoms usually come very slowly and sometimes may even go unnoticed. But these are the common cancer symptoms to look for and visit your doctor immediately.
Anaemia
This happens when your body doesn't make enough red blood cells, it’s symptoms include
- Dizziness
- Shortness in breath
- Pale skin
- Chest pain
- Tired and weakness
Poor blood clotting
In this, Platelets are one that helps make your blood clot and when the body doesn't make enough of it, your small cuts start bleeding more than they should or you might even have a bloody nose. You may experience
- Bruising in unusual areas
- Bleeding of gums
- Tiny red dots on your skin from broken blood vessels
- Heavy periods
- Black bowel movements or steak red in colour.
Lymphoma
Our lymph system carries infection-fighting blood cells called lymphocytes that help get rid of the waste in our body. Lymphoma can cause our body to create lymphocytes that can grow out of control which can make it hard for it to fight infections. You may start experiencing
- Swollen lymph nodes in areas like Neck, Armpit, Groin.
- Because of the lymph going farther to your organs, you may start coughing, feel pain in your chest, belly or bones.
- Fever
- Night sweats
- Unexplained weight loss
- Itchy skin
Multiple Myeloma
Our Plasma cell is another type of disease-fighting cell in our bloodstream. In multiple myeloma, our bone marrow makes plasma that can grow out of control and keep the body from making enough healthy blood cells. Multiple myeloma can get worse but most of the time it does not show any symptoms until you have had it.
These were some symptoms to look out for if anyone in your family history had any cancer. It is always wise to go to a good hematologist-oncologist to find out about cancer and cancer treatments. Cancer can come to anyone so always follow a healthy lifestyle as much as you can.
