BUILDING A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE FOR BETTER IMMUNITY
If there’s one word that all the city folks relate to is hustle. And this thing has certainly come to a standstill after the outbreak of the global pandemic. Whether people like it or not, we all are confined to the four walls of the house and for many of us that has led us to follow a more sedentary lifestyle.
For those who are working from home, it has created a rather difficult situation. Many of us are experiencing a lot of pressure, erratic sleep cycles, no fixed eating or sleeping routines.
Who would have anticipated that we can feel depressed and unmotivated even after sitting at the comfort of our homes? Not to mention, those extra kgs and inches we have accumulated on our waist due to minimum physical activity.
Since Corona times calls for strengthening our immunity, here are some healthy diet and lifestyle tips you should be following to be on the safer side.
Start eating healthy
Now when we mention eating healthy, I don’t mean only resort to eating tasteless boiled food. Include foods in your diet that are fiber rich, have a low glycemic index and have less empty calories. Prefer food items which rank low on the glycemic index result in weight loss. Also, it is a great time to reduce weight. If possible, get in touch with a dietician or a trainer or you can even get weight loss tips online to shed those extra kilos from your body.
Take a pause
It might sound redundant, especially in times like these when we are already at a pause but it is more than important to take a pause. Analyse your routine and figure out what’s wrong and how you can change it. Make a proper schedule for your work if you are working from home so that you don’t become a victim of procrastination.
Keep yourself motivated
Motivation is something you can lose very easily, at least in times like these. Set yourself a certain goal and then work hard towards it. This is the best time to rekindle old friendships and work towards your hobbies that you had left altogether. It all depends upon your perspective. With a little shift, you can turn this otherwise gloomy situation into a motivational one.
Choose a workout to enjoy
It is not necessary that if you want to workout you have to sweat in a gym. Any physical activity for half an hour or more is great. You can brisk walk or do some weight training. Alternative workouts such as zumba, bhangra, aerobics and power yoga are equally beneficial.
Some people also like to play a sport. Swimming, squash and tennis are very popular amongst people who like to work out while they are playing. This helps them burn calories, make their heart pumping and also enjoying at the same time.
